David qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School in 1988 knowing from the start that he wanted to devote his professional career to veterinary ophthalmology. He worked at the Animal Health Trust and the Royal Veterinary College where he undertook a PhD in ocular immunology. This remains one of his main interests, although cataract epidemiology and exotic animal ophthalmology are also high on the list! David has written books and book chapters in ophthalmology and spoken on the subject internationally. He also has interests in animal welfare and how his Christian faith impacts on his veterinary work. He runs the ophthalmology clinic at the Queen´s Veterinary School Hospital.
