Raised in a small town in central Connecticut, Jeff graduated from Farmington High School in 1992. He then headed off to Middle Tennessee State University to pursue a degree in Communications and join the Blue Raiders, a nationally ranked (#4) 1-AA football team as a placekicker. After a redshirt freshman year, and a freak knee injury, Jeff transferred to Towson University to finish his degree in Communications. During his final semester, Jeff completed an internship at DEWALT Industrial Power Tools, a division of Stanley Black & Decker, which turned into a full-time job after graduation and would be where he worked for the next 22+ years.
Jeff's always had a passion for leadership dating back to middle school where he helped create a Leadership Corp program, designed to introduce leadership principles to middle school-aged kids. He went on to be elected Captain for numerous sports teams in high school and worked to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout during his senior year.
Those leadership skills went on to serve him well as he became one of the youngest Vice Presidents at Stanley Black & Decker in May 2014 and became the youngest Vice President of Sales for the US Commercial Division in 2017. During his 22 years with DEWALT, Jeff held 11 different roles ranging from operations, marketing, sales, to mid-level, and senior-level management. Jeff understands what it takes to keep a company at peak performance, delivering record results and building world-class teams. His last role as the Vice President of Sales for the US Commercial Division, he led a team of 300+ people and was responsible for over a $1B in sales. By focusing on a transformation in culture and developing and executing a new "go-to-market" strategy, the results continued to produce back to back years of record growth and sales.
Early in his career, Jeff learned what it takes to motivate and drive team members towards a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, trust, and unity. In addition, Jeff developed the skills necessary to help the organization navigate change by tackling underperforming businesses, personnel, and culture issues through working with cross-functional teams to understand obstacles and hurdles to success.
In June of 2019, Jeff decided to step down from DEWALT and begin to pursue the next chapter of his career. With his experience, real-world examples, strategies, and lessons learned he continues to live out his passion to equip managers and leaders with the skills and habits necessary to slow down, avoid burnout and unlock their team’s potential resulting in greater and faster results.
When not on stage, conducting training or leading great teams, Jeff loves to spend time traveling with his wife Lisa of 21 years, his 2 daughters, Michelle, graduate of the University of Maryland and Taylor a sophomore in high school. He can also be found on the golf course or winning a competitive round of cards or a board game with the family.
