My name is Joel Sprechman and I'm the Founder of One Great Gut, a Benefit Company committed to disrupting the Inflammatory Bowel disease (IBD), Crohn's and Colitis "industry". I am passionate about social entrepreneurship and also a health and wellness coach, certified yoga and meditation teacher.
I graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo with a BS in Engineering and Computer Science. My post graduate education includes The Institute For Functional Medicine and Integrative Institute of Nutrition.
After graduation I spent the next 15 years serving my country by working at Raytheon and Themis, two of the leading defense technology companies. I was an integral member of the design and sales team and managed the hardware division of a $MM intelligence program partnering with National Security agencies.
After nearly losing my colon and almost fatally succumbing to IBD, I started my journey to educate and empower people on integrative and functional curative treatment modalities.
One Great Gut was founded with a vision to become the most comprehensive resource for optimum gut health that is backed by science and research. I dedicated to extensive medical research in this field for my own survival and volunteered hundreds of hours at IBD children's camp and fundraising events for IBD patients.
A big part of my drive and determination is hearing how both my parents escaped war torn Europe during WW2 and came to the United States as refugees. My parents' journey to seek freedom ingrained in me how important personal freedom is including the freedom to make informed medical and lifestyle choices.
I am passionate about public speaking, and have spoken on stages including TEDx and several corporate speaking engagements. I hosted The Crohn's And Colitis Summit, created The One Great Gut Collection and was featured as a best-selling published author for my contribution to the Better Business Book.
