Bio

By way of professional background for the past 20 years my career, focus and passion has been working with people to empower them in their careers – to ignite their potential and work with purpose. I offer a diverse skill set from entrepreneurship to coaching, training, leadership and strategic thinking, combined with working in corporate, commercial recruitment and start up experience.

My background in Human Resources, Recruitment, Career Coaching & Training has been developed within commercial recruitment agencies, corporations, GE & EY and the educational sector with Melbourne Business School (MBS), University of Melbourne as a Career & Executive Coach for 7 years. This combined with establishing two consultancies and an online Jobs & Careers site Six Figures has provided me with a strong understanding and empathy for the career challenges people face in todays ever changing work environment.

This eclectic background has positioned me to successfully work with thousands of professionals and executives to experience a more purposeful and rewarding career.

I am the author of ‘The Busy Women’s Guide to Salary Negotiation’ and have regularly been a guest on ABC Radio and The Wellness Collective Podcast and more recently Broad Radio. In addition to writing articles and being involved in articles for publications such as The Australian, CEO Online and Australian Women Online.

Finding More Passion & Purpose in Your Worklife

In the ‘2016 Snapshot of the Australian Workforce’ report, they cite that 72% of employees are searching for purpose and meaning through their work. Which is not surprising, if you consider that 1/3 of human life is spent working. Another 1/3 is spent sleeping and the other 1/3 for family, friends, leisure.

This is an interactive and reflective presentation where you will be challenged to ask yourself some of the curly questions about who you are (your authentic self) what you are/were passionate about, what gives you a sense of purpose and to consider different ways you can bring more passion and purpose into your worklife.

The presentation will cover ways to revitalise your career;

• Why Passion & Purpose is important
• How to define it
• The role of strengths, interests & values in our work
• Ways to create more passion & purpose
• Identifying blockers
• How to create the change

How to Leverage Cognitive Diversity in the Workplace

While there are many great interventions within organisations to increase awareness and drive change around social, gender and cultural diversity, one area that seems to be neglected is cognitive diversity, which looks at the deeper psychological functions of each individual.

From a workplace culture perspective, given so much of the miscommunication, conflict, and stress can be caused by different cognitive styles, providing employees with an awareness of their preferences and those around them can only be a positive thing.

This presentation explores the theory of cognitive diversity, and provides ideas that will help employees and leaders gain a greater understanding of their cognitive preferences and the preferences of their team and colleagues.

How to Successfully Build Your Personal Brand

Your personal brand is the unique combination of your skills, relevant qualifications, and experiences that makes you, YOU. Effective personal branding will differentiate you from other professionals in your field.

This is an interactive presentation where you will learn how to develop, understand and be your authentic self, articulate the value you can bring to a company and get tips to confidently network and help you stand out from the crowd.

Key takeaways will include how to:
- Conduct a personal brand assessment
- Articulate your brand & your value proposition to current / potential employers (on & offline)
- Confidently and effectively network to grow your brand
- Tools & tips for ongoing personal brand management

How to Confidently Negotiate Your Salary (for Women)

• The Work / Salary Challenges Women Face

Testimonials (1)

  • Date: 4th November 2016 Topic: Successful Salary Negotiation for Women Kelly delivered an engaging one-hour presentation to a 100 women (a mix of current MBA students, Alumni and prospective MBA students), on the topic of ‘Successful Salary Negotiation for Women’. The presentation was a sold-out event and was well received by the audience. They found it both motivational and practical, giving them the tools and more confidence to negotiate their salary packages. I'd engage Kelly again, as she has the experience and presence to communicate with all levels of audience.
