Michael Epley is a Chief Architect for Red Hat’s North American Public
Sector (NAPS). With over 10 years experience at Red Hat as a
Solutions Architect, Mr Epley has been helping the US Government
modernize its IT systems and software development through
DevSecOps. Novel approaches across the technology spectrum with
the rise of Linux Containers (aka Docker) and Kubernetes have
accelerated this change. Across the US Government, Mr Epley has
guided the adoption of Red Hat’s Openshift Container Platform along
with migration of legacy enterprise applications, middleware, and other
workloads to containerized deployments. Within Red Hat, Mr Epley leads the Strategic
Technology Acceleration Team in order to align Red Hat’s suite of products and technologies
to the unique NAPS business needs for security, compliance, and restricted environments.
Encompassing all aspects of today's complex solutions, Mr. Epley's expertise covers a
complete application and technology stack, from the JBoss EAP JEE application server, to
service and process integration with the Drools-based Process Automation Management
System (RH PAM), or ActiveMQ and Camel-based Red Hat Fuse. To really deliver enterprise
solutions across an entire, Mr Epley can also provide guidance for developing RHEL,
Openstack, or Ceph based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS),
and virtualization/cloud strategies. Prior to Red Hat, as a software engineer and technical lead
at Lockheed Martin and then Industrial Medium Software Michael developed advanced AI/ML
automated intelligence data analysis and dissemination systems for various Army, Navy,
DARPA, and JCS customers using open source, SOA, and JBoss technologies.
