Going Modular: Turning Legacy Documentation into User-Story-Based Content

How to adapt the big guides of yesterday into modularized narratives that are easy to maintain, scale well, and still allow for a ‘guide-like’ experience when it is required? This presentation describes how to solve this problem: re-purposing the existing body of documentation into modular units that can be combined into user-story-based content. The talk will also outline how to leverage the modular structure of content to present it to users in a dynamic manner -- using a metadata-based, hierarchical navigation.

Documentation as Code: Making Writing “Technical” Again

Forget about Word or RoboHelp - docs can be developed, published, and maintained using a plain-text editor and a version-control system, such as Git(Hub). What advantages and challenges does it bring?

Is it for you? How can you benefit from adopting a process that treats docs as programmers treat software source code? Come and learn about it!

DevOps meets Docs: Documentation as Code

No more disconnect between the writing of code and the writing of documentation. Modern documentation can be written, published, and maintained using the same methods software code is developed. Docs processes become more agile and more approachable for developers.

In this presentation, Robert Kratky will talk about tech writing workflows that include editing plain-text formats, collaborating through version-control repositories, running custom scripts for validation checks, and automating docs deployment.
