Like you, leadership expert and world traveler, Steve McCullar has seen the word “leadership” defined numerous ways over the years. Is it charisma and positive thinking? Business suits and red power ties? Determination? Is it all about the reaction to situations? Are leaders born or fashioned? What is the difference between leadership and management?
With over two decades of coaching, teaching, speaking, and most importantly, real-life, in-the-trenches business and global experience, his view is radically different. Steve appreciates, and shares with listeners, that leadership is a moment-to-moment choice and not about title, tenure or position. Leadership is for everyone, every day. It's how we conduct our lives.
Steve, a healthcare administrator by education and passion, is a US Navy Hospital Corpsman veteran and graduate of the esteemed Department of Veterans Affairs (healthcare administrative residency), the Graduate Healthcare Administrative Training Program (GHATP), as well as member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has worked with numerous non-profits, which includes: Red Cross, Project Hope, and Help International. He was recently a member of the US Pacific Partnership 2015, where his successes include: Pohnpei State Hospital (Micronesia), National Referral Hospital (Solomon Islands), Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (Philippines) and numerous Ministries of Health, and local public health agencies.
Steve, sometimes referred to as “Coach or Professor” for his ability to motivate and educate, has competed as an athlete on many levels, as well as being a former college football coach. His coaching skills bring out the best in people, and his practical, street-savvy style approach reflects through his inspiring real-life stories—coupled with his conversational techniques—connect with his audience at an intimate, intense, and individual level.
As the founder of a global health and leadership development limited liability corporation (LLC), Steve has served on several boards, and in many key leadership positions for local organizations. Outside of teaching college students weekly, he addresses businesses, associations, youth groups, honors programs, religious organizations, veteran groups, and more. He works diligently to improve the health of those in under-served populations (locally and internationally), reaching and preparing the generation of tomorrow – while promoting self-respect and empowerment within our local communities.
Steve is taking his message to the road, which tells people to “never stop dreaming and unapologetically pursue your dreams."
