Bio

While there are numerous women empowerment organizations, such organizations are few and far between for men. Everyone needs guidance and support, and men are no different. Recognizing the need for outlets in which men could receive support led Dominique Bond and Dexter Peggins Jr. to create When Men Open Up. Through this platform they are on a mission to challenge toxic societal views of masculinity and bring clarity to issues that men often suffer with in silence.

  • I’m just excited to hear and see men that look like me being vulnerable about issues they feel they have to deal with under the radar.

  • Listen, I would like to first commend these brothers for stepping up to the task of providing a platform and engaging us viewers in significant conversations regarding men and our mental/emotional health for the betterment of all our livelihoods. Since tuning into the show I've made some progressive adjustments in the ways I seek to resolve problems in my life. Prior to learning about the show I kept a lot to myself, and being open about emotional problems and unresolved circumstances in life were near-impossible. A lot of the conversations they held helped me to better navigate my own internal process, and dismantle a lot of the cultural and egotistical resistances many of us were raised to adopt that really just prevent us from getting help at the end of the day. I am grateful for the good that works through them, and I highly advise any and all to tune in.

  • When Men Open Up is a great podcast. I tune in every week because it's good to see brothers talking about issues that concern young boys and men. It's a safe space that is necessary for us.

  • When I lived in Japan, I didn't have many outlets for discussions about topics that affected me as a man. With this resource, I was able to hear men talk about things I was too scared to have inner dialogue with myself about. Even since my return to America, I have continued to tune in and I am grateful for these two gifted speakers. Thank you gentleman for all the work and effort you have put in!

  • These men know how to break down sensitive topics that are often not discussed among men. I enjoy gaining a deeper understanding about issues men deal with and avoid talking about.

  • It’s truly a blessing to know some incredible men who are boldly going against the grain. By setting an atmosphere to give other men a place to be transparent in order to address root issues. In doing so it strengthens & empower men to empower other men.
