We all have our public speaking nightmare stories. We’ve practiced in front of mirrors, memorized line after line, rehearsed right up until it’s time. We stand up, take a deep breath, and – our minds go blank. The playback is cringeworthy – too many ums, talking to the floor, the dreaded shuffle. The list goes on.
Yoodli, a Seattle-based startup, has built AI technology to help you practice and improve your public speaking without the pressure of an audience. The platform provides users real-time analytics around their verbal and nonverbal communication to track progress over time. Think feedback around your use of filler words, gesture, uptalk, posture, and much else! Yoodli’s tech has been customized across a variety of applications. These range from preparing for an interview or upcoming speech (such as a wedding toast or Toastmasters presentation!) to rehearsing a sales pitch or an all-important business keynote.
Two of Yoodli’s founders — Varun Puri and Esha Joshi — are former product managers at GoogleX and Apple who struggled with public speaking for years. Their third co-founder, Dr. Ehsan Hoque is co-director of the Rochester Human Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Rochester. We are excited to announce that members of the Speakerhub community can get early access to the Yoodli waitlist by signing up for the waitlist at www.yoodli.ai.
