Ansible Everything

Ansible is a radically simple IT automation platform that makes your applications and systems easier to deploy. Avoid writing scripts or custom code to deploy and update your applications— automate in a language that approaches plain English, using SSH, with no agents to install on remote systems. In this session, we'll discuss many uses for Ansible, including examples from the traditional to the unorthodox. We'll discuss various topics such as configuration management, provisioning, deployment, orchestration, command line tooling, builds, event-based execution, workflow automation, continuous integration, and Ansible container.

Automating day two Red Hat OpenShift operations with Ansible

In this session, we will discuss common administrative tasks that systems operators managing Red Hat OpenShift need to fulfill after an OpenShift Cluster is up and running. We'll focus on how Ansible can be used to automate those tasks. Plus, we will discuss common strategies, workflows, and pitfalls that systems operators might face and how Ansible best practices can help.

Immutable Infrastructure, Containers, and the Future of Microservices

Many current trends in software development and deployment are based around the concept of microservices, small independent services interconnected via application programming interfaces (APIs).

The concept of immutable infrastructure is another area of application life cycle that’s gaining attention. In immutable infrastructure, we deploy immutable components that are replaced each time we deploy instead of in-place upgrades.

In this session, we’ll discuss the use of containers as a delivery mechanism for microservices following the immutable infrastructure paradigm. We’ll show this in the context of Project Atomic, CoreOS, Ansible and OpenShift.

From source to RPM in 120 minutes

In this lab, we'll learn best practices for packaging software using the Red Hat Enterprise Linux native packaging format, RPM. We'll cover how to properly build software from source code into RPM packages, create RPM packages from precompiled binaries, and automate RPM builds from source code version control systems (such as git) for use in CI/DevOps environments. And finally, we'll hear tips and tricks from lessons learned, such as how to set up and work with pristine build environments and why such things are important to software packaging.
