Bio

I believe that when people know how to build strong connections they afford themselves more opportunities. And when people know what they want and need they ultimately feel more confident and can build the foundation for effective professional and personal networks. The truth is most people have never been taught soft skills and haven't had the opportunity to really think about the following question, "Why do you get out of bed in the morning and why should anyone care?" As a certified, professional networking coach and consultant I merge traditional coaching methods with soft skills to help empower people so they can learn how to create strong connections, lead a meaningful career and live a purposeful life.

Trained under the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) I actively listen to my client’s needs by asking the right questions, honor a confidential and non-judgmental space, which results in clients creating their own solutions. As a coach I help clients create benchmarks while holding them accountable for their desired success. I am passionate and believe in the coaching practice because it directly enables clients to ask for what they want in their life and then come up with a deliberate plan to take action while their confidence and self-esteem dramatically increases.

Before pursuing a career in coaching I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in International Relations. After graduating I worked as a legal recruiter with Patton Boggs LLP in Washington, DC and then facilitated international trade at the Canadian Consulate in Denver, CO. I thrive on connecting with like-minded individuals, exploring all types of restaurants and cuisines and enjoy all cultural experiences that broaden and challenge my way of thinking.

I would love to meet the business owner who recognizes that they need to be out meeting people to increase brand awareness or strong sphere of influence.

Testimonials (5)
  • Alyce Blum is a gifted facilitator. I have been part of a couple of discussions she has facilitated and have marveled at her ability to stimulate discussion, encourage participation from everyone there, and inspire the attendees to commit to making changes that will help them to grow personally and professionally. Most recently, I learned about tips for nonprofit folks to use when they network when Alyce taught a class on this topic at Denver Gives Week.

  • If you want the expert on the secrets of dynamic networking, talk to Alyce. She graciously presented “Create an Effective Elevator Pitch, Starting with Why” for us at Workforce Boulder County recently. I was impressed with Alyce’s elevator pitch formula that turns the traditional elevator pitch on its head and transforms it into a powerful first impression. Engaging and insightful, her presentation was full of helpful hints for job seekers. If you want to learn about impactful networking have Alyce be your guide
    Deb Blankenship
    Career Coach
  • Alyce served as a panel member for a Career Coaching discussion I hosted last month and she was excellent. Her answers and advice to the audience were not only spot-on but they up-leveled the discussion significantly. Alyce has a fresh, professional, intelligent approach to all that she does and she is especially appealing professionals in their 30's asking the big career questions.
    Brenda Abdilla
    Facilitator
  • Alyce agreed to present to a community based job search networking group, BoulderNet, on the topic of Networking Skills. She did an exceptional job. She energized the group to actively participate in networking and taught important skills associated. She focused on the "listening skills" necessary in bilateral networking. She taught the group strategic questions to ask. She drive home the importance of starting with the "why" of your networking and sharing ones' passion and motivation in career. She facilitated an excellent workshop, handling difficult questions and involving the group. I would strongly recommend Alyce for her expertise in networking and facilitating a workshop.
