A former foreign correspondent turned European public affairs consultant, I am driven to do things that make a difference in the world. That can be as simple as discovering and sharing new facts that change the way people think about things or as complex as helping organisations build long-term strategies to shape smarter public policies.
I am an INFJ and seek projects that align with my personal values and passions, including public policy projects related to science, technology, sustainability, European integration, fair trade and the fight against fake news.
A quick study by nature. I’ve already sunk my teeth into German unification, the European automotive industry, the information and communications technology and travel businesses, e-commerce, telecommunications, copyright law, privacy, food safety, obesity, European competition law, EU constitutional affairs, climate change, mining, luxury goods, solar energy, agriculture and aviation. In each case, I’ve found satisfaction in helping to simplify things that are complicated, building relationships and working together with others to achieve what couldn't be achieved unilaterally.
My goal is to continue to make a difference by helping people improve communications that promote sensible personal and public choices and by fighting irrational fear, uncertainty and doubt and all those who abuse them.
Specialties: European public affairs, strategic communications, crisis communications, media relations, media training, association and coalition management, community relations, coaching, teaching, writing and editing. I have extensive experience successfully managing multiple projects, people and budgets across both borders and time zones.
