Casey Hammer, only granddaughter of Dr. Armand Hammer and consultant to "House of Hammer" (Discovery+, HBO MAX), remained silent for years about the abuse she endured and the devastating consequences of suffering unimaginable trauma at the hands of one’s own family. Throughout her life, Casey has witnessed her family thrive on being “perfect on the outside and twisted on the inside”. She believes her purpose as a survivor of abuse is to empower victims by bringing awareness to consent and accountability to begin healing. Casey wrote her autobiography “Surviving My Birthright: The Authorized Version” and is currently working on the sequel, “Hammertime: Surviving & Thriving”. Her story was featured in Vanity Fair’s May 2021 issue, the in-depth expose on her nephew, “Armie Hammer: The Rise and Fall of the House of Hammer”. Casey also represented Discovery+ doing over 150 interviews worldwide, on camera and in print, for “House of Hammer”. Casey believes that by sharing her story, it will help empower others to heal and know that they are heard and not alone. She hopes to continue her journey to be an advocate for victims and survivors and to bring awareness by starting a conversation around consent, accountability, and victim advocacy to help empower others and begin the healing process. Casey Hammer is proof that the veneer of privilege does not inform inner circumstances which in her case, were a minefield of trauma and strife. Casey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, that we can choose to become like the monsters that life deals us with, or we can rise above them like a phoenix from the ashes and gift the world with the wisdom of our experiences. A true case for the wounded healer, Casey uses her trauma to empower others to transform the pain of life’s unfortunate circumstances into power. Born Casey Layne Hammer, a native Californian, she spent her high school years in the Philippines and graduated from Pepperdine University with a BS in Business Administration. After the death of her grandfather in 1990, she left the Retail Industry and studied acting where she received her SAG card from the movie “Leap of Faith”, starring Steve Martin. Recently in 2021, Casey was a Kitchen & Bath Designer at the Home Depot Design Center in San Diego and is a licensed Feng Shui Practitioner with her company, Dragon Devas. With the many different careers, she has had over the years, the most rewarding, has been her volunteer work with children. While in Los Angeles she was a mentor for the Fulfillment Fund, a U.C.L.A. affiliate, and volunteered in the pediatric I.C.U. department at the hospital. Casey is credentialed to teach hot yoga, trained in body building and owned her own horses, competing in A circuit Show Jumping. She is passionate about life, spiritual and believes in being an advocate for her well being. One day she hopes to start a foundation for victims and survivors.
