Charmisse Morency

This presentation shares my 3 main points: Be practical, Be self-motivated, and Be ready. I expound on those point for an average of 30 - 60 minutes. In addition, I tailor my speech to share lessons learned as well as touch on things specifically requested by the organization. Some of the things I share are financial mishaps, being homesick and being a first-generation college student.

This presentation was created to give the students a visual aid to get them excited about college. Throughout the presentation, we will map out the college planning and preparation process from start to finish. The worksheet/mind map guides the presentation but we will do it at the pace of the group. Presentation will also capture lessons learned, stories and resources for students.

This presentation provides parents with a tangible checklist of things to do to assist their child(ren) with preparing for post-highschool. Some things I cover are having "the talk", financial planning and building a to-do list.
