Chip grew up in the Adirondacks region of upstate New York in Glens Falls. He is married to Cheryl Nolan Wagar and has two adult children, Will and Sarah, who also live in the New Orleans area. He is also the award winning author of An American in Vienna, a novel published in 2011, The Carpathian Assignment, published in 2014 and a non-fiction biography, Double Emperor, published in 2018.
Chip Wagar has travelled widely in Europe, North and South America. His 40 year legal career and his education make him an excellent choice for speaking about civics and the constitutional systems of the US and how it compares to other governmental systems. His research, writing and personal travels give him unique insights into the histories of American and European peoples and cultures.
