Hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, Chris Richardson knows only one direction in life, forward. A pure, entertaining, creative performing artist and motivator at heart that enjoys dancing, acting, modeling, writing, public speaking, physical and mental fitness and taking the roads less traveled. He’s appeared in television commercials, music videos for Grammy Award nominated artists, on stage in theatrical plays along with hosting his own conversation show as well as acting in his own sketch comedy skits.
Founding Kathenas Entertainment, Kathenas Fitness and the men’s mental health awareness website and hashtag #men_tallyaware are the highlights of his entrepreneurial efforts. Kathenas, is Greek and loosely translated to every or everyone. It’s a play on words, entertainment and fitness for everyone. Through Kathenas Entertainment, content is produced that reminds us that we are one and in this world together. His approach to fitness as a trainer is one of common and literal sense in getting your body to a point where anything you ask of it, it has an answer for you. #men_tallyaware is near and dear to his heart as therapy is something he champions and attends regularly. Being a survivor of rape, domestic violence, suicide attempts, multiple arrests and substance abuse associated with the stigma that surrounds men seeking mental assistance is how #men_tallyaware came to be. It is a safe, non-judgmental space and hashtag to signal a stand with and for all men talking about, learning, seeking and practicing good mental health and hygiene.
Actively volunteering with organizations such as The Bowery Mission, Covenant House NYC and Alvin Ailey Extension is a major part of what keeps him grounded. Giving back and making oneself available to another human being is something his mother imparts to him on a daily basis. His mantra and platform is stay ready, which is a state of mind, body and soul where you align yourself with whatever it takes each day to be in a stage of readiness. Stay ready, is always keeping yourself in position to be able to move, shift, accept, dent or receive whatever life and opportunity bring your way. Not to be confused with being carefree, never being caught off guard or a win or loss record against life. There are things and events that you will have no control over, be them a win or loss for you. No one knows what the next second, minute, hour or day will bring but what is known is that if you stay ready, you won’t have to get ready.
