About
I don't walk onto a stage to tell an audience what happened to me. I walk onto a stage to have them discover something about themselves. My story gives me credibility. My work gives me expertise. But neither is the reason to choose me. Choose me because I am willing to have the conversations most people avoid. I talk about abuse without sanitizing it. I talk about survival without making it an identity. I talk about leadership without hiding behind titles. And I talk about transformation as something we create, not something we wait around hoping will happen. I bring lived experience, years of advocacy and coaching, nonprofit leadership, and a deep commitment to what becomes possible when people reclaim their voice, their choices, and their authorship of their own lives. My audiences don't get a polished motivational speech followed by a temporary high. They get challenged. They laugh. They may get uncomfortable. They think. And most importantly, they leave seeing something they couldn't see when they walked in. That's what I want from every stage I step onto. Not applause. Movement.
From Surviving to Creating: What Happens When You Stop Stopping Yourself
Keynote, Session • 45-60 minutes
Most people think freedom begins when the thing holding them back disappears. But what happens when it's gone—and you're still stopping yourself? Drawing from her lived experience of abuse, survival, advocacy, leadership, and transformation, Christine Malek explores what happens when the limitations once imposed on us become the limitations we unknowingly begin imposing on ourselves. This isn't a talk about simply “overcoming adversity.” Christine challenges audiences to examine where fear, old conversations, learned behaviors, and past circumstances may still be determining the choices they believe are available today. Through raw storytelling, humor, and direct conversation, Christine moves the audience beyond the question, “How do I survive what happened?” and toward something far more powerful: “What am I willing to create now?” Audiences leave examining their own relationship with self-trust, choice, responsibility, possibility, and the authorship of what comes next.

The Disappearance of Self: When Abuse Teaches You to Leave Yourself Behind
Keynote, Session • 45-60minutes
Abuse doesn't always begin with violence. Sometimes it begins with accommodation. You stop saying what you think. You question what you remember. You learn which subjects aren't worth bringing up. You become extraordinarily good at reading another person's face, tone, mood, and needs—and somewhere along the way, you stop reading your own. Christine Malek calls this the disappearance of self. Drawing from lived experience, advocacy, and her work through The SASSI Village Foundation™, Christine exposes how abuse and Domestic Violence can systematically alter a person's relationship with their own voice, choices, boundaries, and sense of self. This conversation moves beyond simply asking, “Why didn't she leave?” Christine asks a far more useful question: “What happened that made leaving herself feel necessary in order to survive?” And from there, the conversation becomes not only about recognizing abuse—but about reclaiming the person who learned to disappear.

Who Are You Being When Nobody Is Watching? Integrity, Choice & the Leadership of Your Own Life
Keynote, Session, Workshop • 45-90 minutes
Leadership doesn't begin when someone gives you a title. It begins with who you are when there's nobody there to applaud you, correct you, rescue you, or hold you accountable. Christine Malek challenges the traditional conversation about leadership by bringing it back to its most fundamental level: the relationship we have with our own word, our choices, and who we are being. What happens when our reasons are completely valid—but the result still isn't what we said we wanted? What happens when circumstances change, plans fall apart, fear shows up, or nobody else is holding us accountable? And what becomes possible when we stop organizing our lives around reasons and begin taking responsibility for creating the outcomes that matter? Through storytelling, humor, direct conversation, and more than a few uncomfortable questions, Christine invites audiences to examine integrity not as morality or perfection, but as the foundation from which trust, effectiveness, leadership, and possibility are created. Because before we can lead organizations, communities, movements, or other human beings— we have to be willing to lead ourselves.
