Bio

I have what you would call an eclectic background. I am a former Professional Racquetball Player, achieving a rank of #18 in the world. After this chapter of my life, I went on to be the Head Coach of the Arizona State University Racquetball Team, amassing a Women's National Championship, 13 top ten finishes, over three dozen Collegiate All Americans, and I am the proud two-time recipient of the Collegiate Coach of the Year Award in my 15 years in this role.

I my professional life I am the Vice President of Sales at TriageNow, and have been with the company since inception. I have helped grow the company into a multi-million dollar entity, with a client base including General Mills, Goodyear Tire, American Red Cross, Liberty Mutual and many more.

After surviving a high speed, head-on collision with a wrong way drunk driver in 2015, I decided to pursue Public Speaking, as this has been an area of interest for me, but not something I ever engaged in until recently. I use my background and wide-ranging experiences to connect with audiences of all kinds.

Overcoming Adversity

This talk will entail the story of my Pro Racquetball career, and all of the challenges I faced while pursuing this dream. I started late compared to peers, was a smaller guy, didn't have a coach and was underfunded from the start, but I still made it to the top.

Cheating Death, And How It Changed The Way I Live

This is the story of surviving a high speed, head-on collision with a wrong way drunk driver and how this changed the course of my life. While I walked away from the crash with limited physical harm, I was in for a lot of deep work and introspection in the months and years that followed.

This talk can be a tearjerker at times, and that is by design.

Don't Jobify Your Passion

In this talk I share my contrarian thoughts on advice that many of us had heard for a long time: Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.

I don't believe this is true; an entrepreneur works harder than anyone and the ride is anything but smooth. For me personally, I am not an advocate of trying to carve a living out of a passion. I did this myself, and burned out because of it, and fortunately I figured out a better approach to share with others, even though it was too late for me to pursue this route myself.

Sales My Way

I hate sales people. Yes, you read that correctly, I do not like the majority of sales people's approach. I focus much more on a consultative approach to sales and always put the needs of the client first. This is not easy, but it is the right thing to do, and if you are looking to build a brand and a reputation, this is absolutely the route to go.

Teamwork

Developing the right team atmosphere is crucial to both short and long term success within an organization. AS I like to say in my talk: There is no "I" in team, but there is a "U". And by "U:, I mean it starts with YOU and expands from there. Think the MoneyBall movie, and you have the essence of my approach.
