The notion of "our people are our most valuable assets" is inherently flawed, and generates great employee cynicism and disengagement. While this phrase is a common, and noble declaration, it rings false to employees, and is untrue for two key reasons (discussed at length). This talk is backed by scientific evidence, and offers a prescription for course correction.
