For over twenty-two years, Dr. Bolar has worked tirelessly serving, inspiring, and coaching young adults and parents, who are often products of dangerous and impoverished communities. Dr. Lawrence V. Bolar is an experienced educational leader, a creative writing coach for inspiring young authors, a motivational speaker and a seven-time author. He demonstrates his passion to see others succeed through his published titles. Dr. Bolar focuses on building quality relationships that provide highly effective sustained supports for all stakeholder. Dr. Bolar’s primary mission in life is to create and inspire an uncontrollable desire inside of every individual or group to become who they were created to be. A desire that burns so deep within that it unleashes their untapped, God given talent. Dr. Bolar strongly believes, to many people have tapped out, kicked out and aborted their dreams. His goal is help individuals and groups rediscover who they are, tap into their inner being, walk out their dreams, live in their destiny while building a legacy that lasts a life time.

The Non-Negotiable: Educating African-American Male Students K-12 will highlight several salient points that were stimulated from NCLB, better known as the No Child Left Behind Act. The book presents several alarming problems. One problem is the dropout rate. Research indicates 53 percent of African-American males nationwide drop out of school. Research indicates African-American high school students are notably falling behind their Caucasian counterparts in graduation rates, dropout rates, literacy rates, and college preparedness rates. According to the Schott 50 State Report on Public Education and Black Males, African-American and Hispanic twelfth-grade students read at approximately the same level as Caucasian eighth-grade students. The National Assessment of Educational Progress reports that 88 percent of African-American eighth graders read below grade level, compared to 62 percent of Caucasian eighth graders.
