The book Philosophy of Digital Currencies: A Theory of Monetizing Time (Routledge 2023), proposes a shift in how financial technologies are combined and applied as tools to further enable peer-to-peer value transfer. In the book, I argue that further enabling peer-to-peer value transfer will usher in a new phase in the positive evolution of human society. The book covers key topics including the social contract and evolution of money towards digital currencies, as a key foundation for a new digital social contract.

Recognizing that technology innovation is creating new types of business models that need new types of leaders, raises the question on what and how. Leaders must build a technical foundation that addresses a) how to approach innovation as a mindset; and b) how to lead innovation as a strategy.

Blockchain, big data, AI, and other exponential technologies present opportunities for disruptive innovation. Importantly, by combining these, we can completely rethink how societies function to better serve us and the environment. Whether as businesses, individuals or governments, these technologies are enabling value creation and transfer on new levels. Understanding their technical functions is key to thriving in this new world. Taking it a step further to imagine future possibilities will help in shaping what comes next.
