Born and raised in Charleston, SC, Min. Edward J. Young was educated in the county's Catholic schools and graduated from Bishop England High School in 1998. Min. Young has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing in 2002 from Winthrop University and a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2005 from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. Eddie is the former Assistant Director of North Village & Greek Life at Furman University, Director of Housing & Student Conduct at Queens University of Charlotte. He is currently the Career Development Facilitator at Fort Mill High School.
Min. Eddie and his wife Min. Adrienne Young have two wonderful boys, Emmanuel and Elisha. The Young family attends Refreshing Word Church in Fort Mill, SC. Previous ministry assignments include being the Youth Ministry Director at Nations Ford Community Church (Charlotte, NC) and being ordained as a Deacon and licensed as a Minister at Bethlehem Baptist Church (Simpsonville, SC). He also served as the Youth Church coordinator and High School Bible Study teacher at Bethlehem. In the community, Eddie is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Football and Track Coach at Banks Trail Middle School, Football Commissioner and coach for the Steele Creek Athletic Association, and was the Community Outreach Chairperson for MLK Dream Weekend and the Youth Supervisor for the Reedy River Baptist Association (Greenville, SC).
Minister Young enjoys reading, but God's Holy Word provides the greatest direction. His favorite scripture is Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
