The 3 Things That Matter in Purpose and Leadership
Purpose and Leadership have become buzzwords in the business community. So much so, we have allowed conversations on purpose and leadership to lack any depth. The truth is we are confused about leadership in today’s world. We think to lead we must have power. What many global leaders have shown us is that you can have power and never lead. Leadership is about impact. How can you use the resources available to you to have a greater impact on yourself, others and society. This is where purpose and leadership intersect. There is no doubt Purpose as a concept is currently for sale. Yet companies continue to struggle with the execution of that purpose because it takes personal leadership to really define and execute purpose with integrity. The biggest mistake people make is they have forgotten that leadership and purpose are inherently human. Leadership and purpose are about you, the leader, not your business or work. They cannot be out
Expressing Your Whole Self
The key purpose to each life is to fully express all of who you are and can be. What you do, how you live, your relationships and your legacy will all flow naturally from a commitment to allow all parts of yourself to be seen and expressed in the world. The business you run, the work you do or the life you live simply provide the vehicles through which you express your whole self. Purpose-led leaders and individuals universally desire a more equitable world. To create a better world, we must first commit to evolving ourselves. Commit to the inner journey. Any life or business can only develop at the pace of your evolution. Authenticity is not a tagline; it’s a lifelong process and is not without its challenges. You take a risk every time you reveal your true self externally. Expressing your whole self is about investing in all parts of who you are. About deciding what ‘success’ means to you. By becoming the fullest version of who we can be, we maximise our impact in the world
