Bio

Across her career, Helen has been recognised as a highly accomplished board level senior business leader, with a longstanding background in PR and Marketing and an industry reputation for business-critical strategic decision making and top-level brand-building consulting to a world-leading client base.

Some years ago, Helen made the transition into leadership coaching, delivering a uniquely blended approach between commercialism within the corporate environment and focus on the individual. Today she provides seasoned professionals with leadership coaching that drives elevation and fulfillment.

Helen specialises in supporting professionals with 20+ years experience who are at a career crossroads - experiencing worry & feeling blocked from making changes despite a growing need to redesign the next chapter of their career. These committed careerists recognise they can't afford to stay stuck the wrong side of a transition.

Helen's coaching blends her commercial edge and branding savvy with her background in Psychology. Together you will work through her proven 5 step ladder system for Aligned Confident Transformation as you co-create a plan that realigns what you do with what matters most. Then act on it.

ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

Are you stuck at some kind of career or business crossroads but don't know how to move forwards? Perhaps you have been thrust onto your crossroads via redundancy or you're striving for a career comeback after a break? Some people already know what change is needed but not how to 'get there'. Others come to coaching because they value thought-partnership in shaping what would make a meaningful career change. And accountability to act.

Helen works with the kind of companies who already know their most sustainable route to growth comes from

optimising the people who populate them. She holds a different perspective and it’s not for everyone. But it should be! Because inviting a coaching perspective into your company gives you keys to unlock your potential and move the business forward. By illuminating – then disrupting – immunities to change, this brand of Executive Coaching brings your people forward with you.

Helen knows what it takes to overcome resistance to change, foster a creative culture and help newly-elevated leaders flourish when they flounder. She also speaks, writes and hosts workshops around topics such as:

- Claiming Confidence

- Rewind The Narrative Holding You Back

- How To Have Courageous Conversations

- Careering, On Purpose

- Building Towards Your Mission-Driven Business

Why You're Such a B**** In Your Most Important Relationship (and how to handle that)

The most important relationship you have is with yourself.

We're conditioned to hear that as selfish but it's not. Psychologists like Kristin Neff, say self-compassion is the healthier way of relating to yourself in the face of setbacks and even the failings we bring on ourselves, than its' cousin, self-esteem. In fact, true narcissism is more connected to self-esteem than self-kindness.

Thee audience leave this presentation knowing how self-esteem and self-compassion are different, why self-esteem hurts and 3 actionable steps to letting go in the B**** and being a better friend to themselves so they can get on with succeeding in their chosen lane.

The Secret Ingredient To Handling Career Conflict

It's critical we learn how to compute conflicts so we can do them WELL. And that relies on a particular response pattern.

There are 4 steps that work powerfully for handling career conflict. And a secret 5th ingredient that we never do.

The audience will leave this presentation knowing how to change the way their conflicts go and how they perform within them forever if they adopt this single, simple tactic.

The Dark Power of Perseverance No-One Talks About

Perseverance. Resilience. Grit. Commitment. All important values.

Values that are critical to our success. I believe in these values to the point I don't think natural talent scores over these gritty contributors.

But there is a darker side to perseverance. And it's a big problem no-one is talking about.

The audience will leave this presentation having heard about the stories that blind us, what they can do to spot the signpost when they need to keep calm and think twice and how to use the Grit-or-Quit Indicator to help them decide whether it's right to employ girt or whether this is one of those times they should quit.

Applies to entrepreneurs, leadership and careerists of all ages and stages.

The Power of Pressing Pause To Look Back and Plan What Next

Are you the same person, from one year, or decade to the next? I wonder...

If you look up nostalgia in the New Oxford Dictionary it tell you it is 'sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past'. But there's more to nostalgia than its definition. Nostalgia performs a powerful function for anyone with big feeling and a question mark hovering over their next career-life chapter.

The audience will leave this presentation having heard a story connecting theory of self-continuity to real life in a way they can relate to. And knowing how to balance our need for continuity with flexibility - enough flexibility to make changes in our careers/lives to see us flourish.

Opportunity for interactive break out sessions to look for links in the past, and how they can link to today and extend to a hoped-for future.

Careering, On Purpose

It's hard to be purposeful when you don't have absolute clarity about what your career-life purpose is.

In this presentation, I explain how to recognise you're circling the same career problem again and again and how to navigate your Stuckness when that's because you don't know what you wish would happen next.

The audience will leave knowing how to create a personal career compass and start making plans for change to happen.

Career-life synergy is always best co-created - in collaboration with trusted others to benefit from more objectivity, creativity and accountability that is possible when you consider yourself on your own. Opportunity for storytelling breakout sessions to help identity what matters most. Because how can any of us align what we do with the life we wish we were living unless we first understand - deeply - what will feel purpose-driven.

What If Learning Optimism Was As Easy As ABC?

While there is such a thing as toxic positivity, it's also important to recognise when pessimistic thinking is getting in your way. And how you can challenge your pessimistic tendencies.

The audience will leave knowing the psychology-backed ABCDE of learning optimism. There is an opportunity for a break-out session to help people think like an optimist about something specific that went wrong for them.

Which matters when we're trying to build towards career-life change we need to thrive. Because things go wrong - it's an inevitable and useful part of the progress we want for ourselves actually. So long as you know how to apply the ABCDE of learning optimism.

Rewind Your Narrative

In this presentation, I will draw on my training in Narrative Therapy. Theory will be presented in a digestible form to explain that we are all 'multi-storied' (like a car park!) and our storytelling exists in layers of our experience, our cultural backdrop, constellation of relationships and our very sense of (ever-evolving) self. Much like a multi-story car park, there needs to be a slope connecting these stories.

And that's what narrative practices help us with. Make visible the links between our multiple stories so we can make sense of our old storylines, understand how to be our own editor and rewrite the next chapter - one we actually want.

Rewind the Narrative provides rich opportunity for small breakout sessions or a longer workshop format.
