Bio

My desire is to celebrate every woman's passion, purpose, and potential. Passion is the active and vibrant expression of individual gifts and talents that invigorates an unreserved extension of the heart and hand. Purpose allows us to respond to the destiny over our lives by realizing who we are. Potential is the untapped promise inside every woman that comes to life as she realizes her value and self-worth as a woman. May she speak with boldness, may she arise with confidence, may she live to love, may she make her mark in society without restraint. An energetic, passion-filled visionary, known for my enthusiasm for developing others. I encourage young girls to explore opportunities, education, and careers! Young women encounter challenges every day. Apart from sharing their communities’ many systematically face discrimination simply by virtue of being female. This includes physical and sexual violence, being kept out of school, disproportionate vulnerability to HIV infection and lack of access to property and other rights. My understanding is that investing in young women’s leadership is essential to social change now and for the future. Empowering Women to Lead Change is to support the development of women’s skills and to enable them to provide leadership on the issues that concern them. I want to offer engaging and dynamic activities to motivate and enable women to believe in their abilities to catalyze change and to mobilize others to do the same. I want to teach women to learn and explore issues from human rights and violence against women to body image, self-esteem and developing leadership skills. Although my experience consists of edifying and supporting a diverse audience, I have a special calling to ignite in women the desire and passion to become the version of themselves. Recognizing and sharing their unique gifts and talents to achieve wisdom, wealth and wholeness.

Muslim Arab American Program

I had the opportunity to speak at Fullerton College. Some topics discussed were generated by my family, the customs of my culture, being an Muslim Arab American, and growing up in Cleveland. What I'm doing, what I hope to do. We watched a clip of TED Talks and discussed my reaction to the Ted Talks. I spoke about any comments on our troubles in the middle east, and 9/11. A lot of people are dreadfully short on knowledge of the Muslim outlook. I was able to answer questions they had and recommend books and other resources where they could learn more. I was asked to come speak because I am an interesting, educated and talkative young American girl, who comes from a Muslim family.

  • Izzy came down to lecture to our CSUF senior organization last year. She was very effective and prompted many questions on Islam and her life in America. She was well received; I think she opened several people's eyes and dispelled some vague Muslim stereotypes.
