James has been studying and working on how to improve both himself, and society as a whole since his middle school years. While his life story is diverse, ranging from early childhood days taking part in French and Indian Wars historic reenactments, writing for school newspapers, being a Buddhist monk, to an academic researcher in international education, finishing a MA in Media Education, to writing numerous books and articles, and taking long religious retreats,his main interests have centered around a few key points. Main areas of expertise and continued study for James are: the human/media relationship, insight meditation, sociology, and historical change.
Under these headings James has researched many of the best authors of literature both popular and classic, written historical fiction, spent long periods of time studying and working at Buddhist centers, and researching and writing about technological and sociological change in media. His specialty is how media is both a product of our culture, but also has been instrumental in forming our culture. His role model has been Dr. Wayne Dyer, and his approach to all of life’s problems are a non-denominational, spiritual introspection into the human condition. Through all of this work and study, James has become an “optimization specialist” for both the individual and organizations.
Under the title of optimization specialist, James looks for the underpinning issues that hold back both individuals and society and takes as Louis L’Amore calls it; “The long view” of how to solve them. James uses his training and vast experience in education, pedagogy, history, technology, and meditation to find these problems and solve them.
James has a MA in Education from the University of Lapland, studied pedagogy at the Hochschule fuer Musik in Graz Austria, studied at McConkey Johnston International, studies at Google’s Academy of Ads, and was an ordained monk at the Birmingham Buddhist Vihara in the UK. He worked in developing an auction and antique business for over fifteen years, helps non-profits with grant writing and donor base development, and is an seo and digital marketing guru.
