Remote Work & Learning Guide

Going remote can be challenging but it can also be an incredible opportunity. Don't kid yourself. Moving from an integrated office environment to managing a distributed work force is tough. But it isn't just doable. It can open a new world of opportunities for both employers and employees. In the world of COVD-19, this is impacting us in every arena, work, school and home. Companies, schools and families are diving bravely forward and exploring this new virtual world. I've built and led distributed teams operating across the globe. I can guidepost the path, warn of the pitfalls and provide a little inspiration to push you forward.

Game Safe Kids Founder

How do you keep kids safe playing games, using social media and exploring the ever widening world wide web? I've spent years leading teams in the creation of interactive entertainment. I know how this technology is designed, how it works and how it is used. I can help lay the out roadmap to guide parents and kids through this ever-changing landscape.

Mad Scientist of Video Games

I speak on the what, why and how of games and the people who play them. I am a frequent speaker at industry events worldwide covering topics ranging from iGaming and real money gambling to social casino, Esports, skill games, game design and development, team management, marketing, VIP management, player acquisition and the gamification of non-profit fundraising.

Innovation Inside the Box

Can you innovate inside the box? Are regulatory constrictions an unavoidable barrier to true innovation? Or can a deep understanding of the rules of the road set your creativity free?

Going Remote: Surviving the Shift to Home-Based Operations

Distributed Development. Remote Operations. Working from Home. These were buzzwords with a small, but vibrant group of adherents preaching huge benefits. A much wider base of skeptics pictured lost productivity, untrustworthy employees and pretty people lounging beachside in the tropics with their laptops. The reality isn't so black and white. It's a challenge for many. But it can be done - and given the current state of the world, it must be done. So, if it must be done, let's do it right.

Making 'Real' Money

Successfully monetizing a game is becoming an ever-higher mountain to climb. When the cost of acquiring a player rises higher than that player's potential lifetime value, developers face a very difficult problem. Meanwhile real money play is expanding into the video game space at a rapid pace. Skill Games, eSports, Fantasy Sports, Online Gambling - players are spending money with the intention to win money. So just how do you make money by getting players to spend money trying to win money? What's legal and what's not? Where is it legal? Where do Apple and Google stand? What will happen in the next three years? Dig into a fast-paced primer on real money gaming.

Game Safe Kids

PLAYING VIDEO GAMES SHOULD BE FUN - AND SAFE

When properly used, video games are awesome. But the tech can be a pretty high mountain to climb. Game Safe Talks give parents the basics they need to keep their kids playing safe in the modern world. Our talks are customized to best serve the audience. Parents of young kids have different questions than grandparents or parents of teens. Teenagers themselves have a whole different batch of questions. A key focus is the proper usage of parental controls on the huge range of connected entertainment devices in the market today. Sample topics covered:

*Video Games 101
*Using Parental Controls
*Selecting Games and Game Platforms
*Deciphering Game Ratings
*Basic Multiplayer and Social Media Safety
*Common Sense Online Browsing
*Gameplay Recommendations by Age Group

Teamwork Design – the Game
90 minutes
(View workshop agenda)

Game design is a contact sport. It takes an interdisciplinary team working as seamlessly as a finely tuned orchestra to get the job done. Getting employees to work together in creative harmony is no easy task. Tasking them with teamwork exercises can stir up a roomful of eye rolls as your staff ponders another few hours of burnt time. But make it a game and attitudes change. Play is a key element of human learning. A team that can play games together can learn together. A team that can design games together, can work together.
