Dr. Jane A. Simington, PhD, is the owner of Taking Flight International Corporation and the developer of the Trauma Recovery, Grief Support, Suicide Intervention, and Healing Ambiguous Losses Certification Courses; all of which are granted accreditation by the Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC Global). As an educator, and workshop and conference presenter, Dr. Simington engages her audiences by combining her professional background and education in both Nursing and Psychology, with her own experiences of grief, trauma, healing, and transformation, to help, heal and empower people of both genders, and across cultures.
Dr. Simington is a prolific author, addressing lay persons and professionals with publications in print and online. Her internationally sold books, Journey to the Sacred: Mending a Fractured Soul, and Through Soul’s Eyes: Reinventing a Life of Joy and Promise, are published in several languages. She has written Chapters in professional textbooks, and Endorsements and Forwards in the books of other authors.
Dr. Simington’s work is featured in two award-winning films, Listening to Soul Pain and Healing Soul Pain. She has published internationally sold CDs as compliments to the healing methods she has developed. These include Journey to Healing and Transformation, Shielded with Light, Cloaked in Joy, Healing Ancestral Wounds, and Cutting Cords with Addictions.
Known as the “Woman of Hope,” Dr. Jane Simington has been honored with scholarships and awards. In 2017, as part of the acknowledgement of nursing services during Canada’s 150 years of confederation, Dr. Jane Simington was recognized by the Canadian Nurses’ Association as one of the 150 Canadian Nurses, to be honored. In 2012, she received the Lifetime Achievement for Nursing Excellent Award from the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. That same year she was recognized by the University of Saskatchewan as an Alumni to Know. In 2011, the Canadian Nurse honored her as the Nurse to Know. In 2012, the YWCA named Dr. Jane Simington as a Woman of Distinction for Health and Medicine and in 2011, Global Television honored her as a Woman of Vison.
