Painter Jean Claude Kabongo was born and lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. From his early years, Kabongo shows an innate passion for art, drawing, and painting. He also shows extraordinary aptitudes for handling brushes and the rendering of realistic images. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from The University of Arts.
His paintings are influenced by impressionism and bring together characteristics such as a taste for the open air, the search for the momentary, the fleeting, the capture of the effects of light, the absence of black and contours, and the small and loose brushstrokes.
From a very young age, Jean Claude Kabongo started painting outdoors and using light and bright tones influenced by Pinazo.
In the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 2009, Jean Claude Kabongo discovered the luminism of the Nordic painters that would mark so much of his later work. He begins to paint outdoors and his palette takes on new nuances in his effort to capture light in the daily scenes and landscapes of American nature.
