Jeff is a career educator and leader with more than 30 years of experience. He holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, both from Henderson State University. Jeff spent 7 years as a classroom teacher before moving into administration for the next 15 years. The last 8 years of his education career were with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). Three years at the ADE were as a School Improvement Specialist. Jeff had the opportunity to work with many schools and districts around the state, assisting those schools to develop improvement plans through needs assessments and strategic planning to increase student achievement. The last 5 years Jeff directed the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Program for the Arkansas Department of Education. He was the coordinator for Teacher Cadets, a program that partners high schools and colleges. The program offers an Introduction to Education class for high school students to encourage them to consider education as a career. This program grew from 5 schools, approximately 100 cadets and 2 colleges partners to almost 90 schools, more than 20 college/university partners and almost 1000 cadets during Jeff’s tenure in this position. The Educator Commitment Signing Week was also a brainchild of Jeff's during his time at the ADE.
Jeff left the Arkansas Department of Education, July 2019 to become the first Executive Director for the Arkansas Early Childhood Association. While there he led the development and implementation of the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Arkansas Scholarship Program. This scholarship program provides opportunities for early childhood teachers to pursue a college degree. Within the first year this program was distributing funds for 55 scholarships. He left in March of 2021 to dedicate fully to his consulting business.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Robin for 31 years. They have 2 grown kids, Drew and Abby, their rescue dog, Wrigley and 2 cats. The Dyers are strong believers in giving back to their community and helping others. Jeff has been involved with Special Olympics since he was in Junior High, more than 40 years. He has been a head coach at three Special Olympics World Summer Games. Robin, Drew and Abby are also volunteers at state and local events. Jeff served ten years on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of South Logan County, with 6 of those years as Board President. He has been involved with numerous organizations and in various volunteer leadership roles for many years.
Through Jeff’s experience in both his professional and personal life, he has been able to hone skills to assist groups and individuals to assess, create and monitor progress on their goals and missions. He excels in guiding people though the process of developing and telling their story.
