My name is Joe and I have many years experience in the non-profit sector. I've been a development and growth specialist for a number of those years and have a broad range of experience and expertise specifically helping small to medium non-profits develop into bigger, faster growing and more professional operations.
I particularly specialise in making this happen on a budget. So whether you're a solo operation with a budget of effectively zero, keenly trying to raise your head above the crowd, or an established non-profit with a solid foundation but you're struggling to kick on, I can help.
I don't tell people that social media is what it's all about or how spending a fortune on marketing is the way forward. The World has enough people telling you that already. I'm yet to encounter a charity or non-profit who's best plan is just to throw money at something or start fixating on likes and re-tweets. Instead I offer a mixture of practical experience and some inventive insights I've learned over the years working with non-profits that need to find a new approach or just some support getting where you need and want to be.
My focus is usually on helping charities develop a clearer picture of their objectives, then drawing coherent and practical planning to connect where they are now, to where they want to be.
I support this professional experience with an extensive network of connections in the non-profit sector as well as the media and political spectrums. I'm always be able to offer some 'zero cost' options to raise a charity's profile and in turn expand, develop and grow. I back this up by being able to point to the numerous times these methods have been implemented, and worked well.
During my professional career, I've worked with major companies in the private sector, I've been an advisor in the public sector for government departments and have for the past decade focussed heavily on non-profit development in the community sector.
I'm a frequent expert contributor to the media and have appeared on BBC Radio, BBC One, ITV News and numerous documentary series such as the recent A Matter of Life & Debt.
I also founded and run Third Sector Network, where we offer online training events designed especially for the non-profit sector. You can find out more about this at www.thirdsectornetwork.co.uk
