The 59-year-old capitalist and entrepreneur John Douglas Steuart is based in Berkeley, California. John went to Golden gate University to get a Master’s Degree in Taxation, which crafted his academic experience. Prior to that, Steuart graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
John started his career as an entrepreneur and investor right after graduation. John and Micheal Kraszulyak established a real estate company called Savvy Properties. Their mission was to provide modern student housing at an affordable price. They are co-managing Savvy Properties for over three decades now, and their earnings and growing each year.
John co-founded Prolog Ventures and Steuart Ventures and has led investments in more than a dozen successful start-ups. He has also worked as a senior executive and board member of numerous healthcare and technology companies. This includes Claremont Creek Ventures.
Claremont Creek Ventures, an early-stage investment and digital innovation solution, has a co-founder and experienced managing director, John. The Investment and Property Management Departments, as well as the company's general strategy, are under his supervision. This company invests in various industries especially medical care and technology. His excellent management skills gave the company a home run investment with more than $100 million return of investment. To add more, he imparted his knowledge and experiences about this field to students at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology College of Engineering as an industry fellow and as an advisory council to the Lester Center's Berkeley Entrepreneurs' Forum at UC Berkeley.
He then continued to invest in healthcare. His inclination in technology and medicine inspired him to invent a transponder marker that could help medical doctors track and monitor implants for medical reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries. John and Terry R. Knapp designed a portable electrical transponder marker that emits electromagnetic waves.
At present, John serves on the boards of Natera, SmartZip, Rally4, and Savvy Properties. Natera is a genetic testing company that focuses on women’s health. SmartZip is a real estate and marketing firm, and he is the current chairman of Rally4. With his experience in venture investment, he will likely fund more start-up companies in the future.
