Jonathan is the founding director of the consultancy Small Giants Advisory.
He is a nationally registered psychologist, ANZI Master Coach, Fellow of the International Association of Facilitators and Certified SCRUM Master and full member of the Professional Speakers Association.
He has lived and worked around the world with the intent to help ‘create workplaces that facilitate people manifesting the highest version of themselves’. He was once described as a genius but is mostly described as ‘slightly odd’
His key superpowers are Hypnotism (he is captivating and engrossing) and Shock and Awe Tactics (he tends to leave a memorable impact on people).
He has a masterful way of managing human complexity through Human-Centred Design, seeing people not as the problem in the workplace but as the elegant solution.
Jonathan is recognised as a leading expert in the design and delivery of customised solutions that address human complexity in the workplace on the topics of cognition, safety, high-value teaming and human-centred design.
Over the last 20 years, Jonathan has designed and delivered programs for a wide range of clients globally including Rio Tinto, BHP, Boeing, Boeing Aerospace and ANZ Private Bank.
As safety specialist, he was the founder of the safety company Sentis and the designer of their flagship program, which is still running today, having been presented to over 200,000 people globally. At Small Giants Advisory Jonathan’s focus is on the effective and practical implementation of Safety-II (Safety Differently) utilising Human-Centred Design.
As a nationally recognised expert in Human-Centred Design, he trained at Illinois Institute of Technology. He was a federal government design-thinking mentor for private sector businesses from 2012-2016. Jonathan has worked with design-thinking thought leader Professor Sam Buccolo delivering training on the application of design-thinking and user experience to transform high-growth, high potential businesses.
Jonathan is an engaging facilitator and keynote speaker. He is the co-author of a book chapter on safety leadership and several research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
