Bio

Julia Areh (she/her) is the CEO of Julia Areh Consulting and the creator of EquiTee365 merchandise line. She is an award-winning organization transformational professional, DEIB Champion and People Coach who is passionate about helping people learn to unlearn. She has developed, supported, and guided teams in the non-profit, academia, government corporate sectors.

The pillars that serve as the catalysts of Julia’s expertise are people, relationships, processes, and progress. These pillars have helped her build a legacy of excellence as a change agent who helps leaders and organizations solve challenges and navigate processes. Julia’s most valuable business lesson is to always make business about the people. This lesson served as her guiding principle in her former Vice President and Director leadership roles. She was the first woman of color to serve in both leadership roles.

Julia is applauded for her authenticity, relatability, and her ability to connect with diverse audiences. She has been a guest speaker for organizations such as the American Business Women’s Association, Clark Atlanta University, Douglas County Government, Rotary International, Push Thru Therapy Group and Bartow Business Women. Additionally, she has facilitated capacity building activities for the City of Douglasville, Post-Partum Support International, Gilbane Building, YMCA, Forsyth County Chamber, Equitable Dinners Atlanta and many more. Her written work has been featured in Madame Noire lifestyle magazine and she has also been featured in several media outlets (newspaper, podcast and magazine).

Julia earned a Master of Public Administration from Troy University, a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of West Georgia, and a Diversity & Inclusion certification from Cornell University. She is also a certified People Coach.

Some of Julia’s professional honors include the National Women in Leadership Association’s Outstanding Women in Leadership Award, Georgia Highlands College’s Administrator of the Year, and Douglas County Top 10 Young Professionals.

Understanding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

DEI is currently a priority for many organizations. In making DEI a priority, it is important to
understand the definition and impact of diversity, equity and inclusion on organizations and
individuals. This workshop provides a foundational overview of DEI, basic concepts, and best
practices. We will explore the impact and role of DEI in organizational culture and success.

Generational Diversity Matters

Many workplace diversity initiatives are primarily centered on race and gender; however, research reveals there is great need for deliberate attention on generational diversity in the workplace. Generational diversity is defined as having multiple generations in the workforce. Currently, there are four generations coexisting in the workplace. Each of these generations views the world through different lenses which can lead to conflict and disruption in the workplace. While there maybe conflict that arises from this occurrence, generational diversity is a beneficial resource to the workplace.
This workshop examines how generational diversity in the workplace can advance innovation, problem solve and create leadership pipelines.

Allyship In Action

This presentation focuses on understanding the true meaning of allyship and its role in building trust and stronger organizational cultures and climates.

The Impact of Intentional Inclusion

The terms diversity and inclusion are often used interchangeably but realistically require different efforts and actions. While diversity is primarily focused on representation, inclusive practices are rooted in creating a sense of belonging, psychological safety, and meaningfulness.
This presentation highlights the importance of intentional inclusion and the impact of creating and supporting inclusive practices and spaces.

Embracing the A.N.D & Rejecting the Limitations of Fear

For some people, fear is the driving force that influences the way we navigate and experience life. Too often we allow fear to dictate our potential and silence our ambitions. This presentation is focuses on confronting and dismantling our fears.
