Kate Okiomah has worked within the sports industry for over eight years. After being a member of the University of Kansas Women's Tennis team and achieving Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Big 12 Honor Roll throughout her career, Kate graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
Following graduation and moving back to her home state Arizona, Kate began working in the Sales and Marketing Department for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2014, Kate relocated to Florida to work for the Ladies Professional Golf Association as their Social Media Coordinator for two seasons, working both within the U.S. and abroad.
In fall 2015, Kate ventured over to the west coast of Florida and spent two and a half years as a Communications Manager at the Women’s Tennis Association, traveling internationally with the WTA and taking the top tennis players in the world through their media commitments and sponsorship obligations. Kate developed relationships with journalists, sponsors, tournament directors and of course the athletes.
Kate moved to Seattle, Washington with her husband Karo in late 2017 and they started K.O. Communications. Clients have included the Strive Tech, Inc., WTA, Tennis Canada, Special Olympics USA Games, Atlas RVM Systems and more. They reside in the Eastside of the Greater Seattle with their dog, Hudson.
