Bio

What started as a desire to help senior adults have a little fun each day has developed into a passion and deep understanding of what encourages seniors to thrive, removes the stigma of aging, and fosters conversations in families where multiple generations are affected by memory loss and other chronic illnesses that can impact us all.

I have channeled this passion as an author, small group facilitator, trainer in various senior living communities, and speaker.

I look forward to hearing your needs and challenging your audience to view aging in a new and enriching way.

Growing Kids and Aging Parents

How do you manage with a child who is perpetually learning and a parent who seems to be constantly forgetting? You enter a new realm of chaos and confusion. Let’s journey together and discover coping strategies for stress, caregiver burnout, ways to empower kids and engage senior adults with memory loss, remove the stigma and fear behind memory loss, and foster conversations with children of all ages, as well as your inner child.

So Many Services, Where Do I Begin?

We are fortunate to have a variety of services for senior adults and their families based on each ones individual needs, but how do you know what is right for you, and how do you access it? Learn about a host of resources available, what the required for each, what the benefits could be, and what you can realistically expect.

Keeping Loved Ones At Home…. Safely

Shared some of the common, yet overlooked dangers that Senior Adults face at home and how to prevent falls and other injuries as well as scam prevention. Demonstrated some of the safety tools that can be used for older loved ones, specifically those with Parkinson’s, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s so they can stay home with their families longer and in some cases through their entire disease process.

Caring for Caregivers

Discussed ways that we as a community can support caregivers, provided resources localized to that specific community, and shared realistic ways that Caregivers can prevent burnout and maintain their own physical, mental, and emotional health throughout the disease process of their loved one. Provided an open forum for conversations among attendees to share tips and tricks they had learned along their journey as well.
