One burning question rises to the top from the thousands I heard while working in the Silicon Valley Tech industry for over two decades: Where is my power? It was endlessly echoed during meetings, conferences, and discussions from the beginning to the end of my own corporate career. Sadly, I’m still hearing it today while I coach the next generation of leaders. After moving up into broader leadership roles, I now know why people frequently do not have a seat at decision-making tables. But, more importantly, I will share my story of earning that seat and how all leaders can claim their power.

You might be surprised by the number of people who only achieved fame and fortune later in life, even in their 50s, 60s, and 70s. They became good at handling setbacks, replanning, and managing their expectations. They understood what they wanted and were patient in their strategies to get it.
