This program especially resonates with youth because they have a keen interest in the World Record (the hook), but the message is deeper. You see, I believe that human potential is about becoming everything you are capable of becoming and that this is achieved by being the best we can be in the key moments we experience on a daily basis. In speaking to youth, I have found that many of them struggle with their belief in themselves. My presentation starts with the idea of "Believe You are Important." Because what if ... what if they knew they were important? How would that change the decisions they make? From believing in themselves, the program transitions to "I Have a Purpose." Many students believe that having a purpose is a destination, i.e. becoming a doctor. I share that having a purpose is a core value that we can live by, i.e. stand up for those less fortunate. Finally, "I Can Make a Difference." Students discover that they can make a difference in their community.
