The Truth About High Performance & Hard Work
Why are some business owners and leaders are more successful? Why do some have terrific results with their teams and businesses, while others with the EXACT SAME skillset, work ethic and training struggle? After interviewing experts, writing articles, being interviewed myself on close to 100 podcasts, and listening to my own 25+ yrs of experience, it turns out we have it all wrong. You DON’T need to work like a maniac 60 to 70 hours a week to be successful. Most high performers who DO work like that, still don’t feel productive and accomplished. Instead they feel worn out, burnt out, unfulfilled and disconnected from themselves and others…but they don’t know what to do. Which is why during this session, I share my own personal experience of successfully dealing with this situation, along with supporting research to show participants some specific techniques that I and some of the highest performing business leaders and athletes in the world are using to improve their performance.
Living the Sabbatical Life
Working 70+ hour weeks, answering emails and sending texts over the weekend, I totally bought into the 24/7 hustle culture. If you're not working hard all the time, you’re not going to achieve success. This belief causes stress and burn out and torches all elements of health and well-being. Even with all the research supporting the benefits of allowing ease and flow in life – from increased business success to improved personal life – I resisted. It's counterintuitive! How can I work less, get more clients, and have more peace of mind? Then I took a month-long sabbatical road trip with my 19-year-old cat. What happened proved that to improve your business and feel less stressed, you need to STOP spinning in busy-ness, become more intentional in your actions, create habits that support ease and flow in your life, and regularly allow yourself to recharge. During this presentation, participants learn how they can start living a sabbatical life without road tripping with a cat.
