Marc was born in Chicago Illinois. After his parents split, his mother moved him and his siblings to Houston Texas. Growing up Marc watched his mother struggle to provide for him and his five siblings. Although his mother worked excessively, Marc still experienced plenty of nights without power, hot water, and high anxiety from food insecurity. Among many challenges, Marc and his siblings were once homeless. At the age of just 8 years old, Marc began finding work in his neighborhood. He would make between $200-400 a weekend, giving some to his mother to help with bills and saving the rest for when hardship struck again. Growing up in the middle of four sisters all dealing with an array of issues from, drugs, early teen pregnancy, to running away and Juvenal detention centers; Marc didn’t fully receive the attention he needed. For many years Marc silently suffered from anxiety, dyslexia, and paranoia. Marc’s father was not completely absent from his life. But distance and his father’s past issues with drug addiction made it difficult for them to bond the way Marc desired.
Through all of that, Marc managed to find the courage and motivation to excel. He quickly became a leader in high school. Leading creative groups like a poetry club, and anti-bullying campaigns reaching over 350,000 people across the country in connection with NBA star Dwight Howard. Marc proceeded to follow his passions. He became the first one in his family to go to college, obtaining a Bachelor’s in Acting from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He finished his 4 year degree in two and a half years by taking no breaks. Right after graduation he jumped into his Masters program at Antioch university, after completion in 2020 he plans to dive right into his PhD. He hopes to be a primal example for his 19 plus nieces and nephews.
Not only does Marc understand many of the issues that current students are going through, but he knows why and what they need to overcome them, because not only did he have to learn the hard way… he had to learn alone. Marc is an expert, author, and rising motivational speaker in the educational arena. Marc is making it his life's work to help students and teachers become the best version of themselves.
