She pulled over to the side of the road and watched YouTube videos of the war and listened to the sounds of the war for the first time in forty years. She was then able to process how the engine noises reminded her of this terrifying period in her childhood and face her fears to race in a car that mimicked that soundtrack of war. Martina is truly an inspiration of determination, hard work, grit and kindness.”
