I have a shocking training confession: I’m a bad student. I know what it’s like to stare at a screen and be frustrated by poorly implemented learning programs. By engaging people with the right content, in the right place at the right time, I can get people excited about learning in our distracted world.
I’ve always liked sharing knowledge. As a kid, I was the person who read the museum plaque so I could tell my family what I learned. Today, I do the same thing on a larger scale through instructional design and multimedia learning technologies. In short, I unpack topics into easy to understand learning.
At Mindset Digital I develop videos and online courses to educate learners on social media and online best practices. When planning each video, course and training session, I like to think about the big picture. This involves:
● unpacking objectives to ensure each training program engages and educates the learner, aligns with organizational goals and provides an appropriate solution.
● designing high-impact visuals to capture the audience's attention
● staying on top of current advances and changes in learning technology to deliver results with optimum effectiveness and efficiency
I like to joke that I’m extremely motivated by my own laziness. There’s a kernel of truth to it, though: I love finding new shortcuts so people can work smarter and no harder than a task requires. It’s refreshing when I can take what I’ve learned and help somebody do their job better. And every success story just inspires me to keep pushing further in the quest for more learning and better results.
