As the first minor to ever write and present a bill to congress (in Costa Rica) seeking to create a feasible rout for the distribution of all perishable food, I intend not only to share my experience and concern on food waste with an audience of young leaders, but also I intend to inspire the youth by proving how no matter the age, the profession or the gender, people with passion and perseverance can change the world.
My name is Nicole Arrea, currently I am a high school student and am 16 years old. more than a regular student and a high performance athlete, I am a leader within my community. Along with Maria Paula Mora (another high school student) I created the campaign "Compartamos la Mesa". Up to this point some of the campaign's achievements include; Working along with the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization and becoming an active participant in their efforts in Costa Rica, been published in four out of the five top newspapers and radio stations in Costa Rica, and drafting and presenting a bill to congress that is currently on the legislative current and has been signed by multiple congressmen including the 2016 president of the legislative assembly and current candidate for the 2018 presidency Antonio Alvarez Desanti.
