Njeri Wangarĩ-Wanjohi is a multi-talented Kenyan performance poet, writer, and marketer whose work and interest lie at the intersection between the arts, technology, media and marketing.

The Poet
Wangarĩ is one of Kenya’s most prolific and well known contemporary poets who helped redefine an appreciation of poetry from its written form to a performance consumed and appreciated in coffee houses and art venues.
The first collection of poetry Mines & Mind Fields; My Spoken Words published in 2010 explores themes of identity, politics and cultural shifts in her country Kenya.
The Writer
Wangarĩ one of Kenya’s blogging pioneers. She started her blog kenyanpoet.com in 2005 to publish her poetry and write on arts and culture in East Africa. In 2014, she founded AfroMum.com- an online publication that focuses on family lifestyle, family technology and the emancipation of women in Africa.
In 2010, Wangarĩ became one of the founding members of Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) and served as its director of training and outreach for two years. She continues to play an important role in the growth and appreciation of blogging and social media in Kenya through mentorship, training and speaking engagements.
Wangarĩ has been an avid contributor to Global Voices online – a leading global citizen journalism platform for over 7 years now writing on technology, the arts, and current affairs. She has also written for Aljazeera Mail & Guardian Africa, Kenya Monitor and The Nairobi Garage Newsletter publications on technology, new media, digital rights and the arts in Africa.
The Marketer
She is currently the Marketing Manager at GeoPoll - a leading U.S mobile surveying platform where she handles communication, media relations, and content marketing. Some of her biggest accomplishments whilst at GeoPoll have been as a project lead on the research and publication of survey reports on The Reality of Fake News in Kenya, African Millennials, 2018 World Cup Insights and e-commerce in Africa
Wangarĩ is passionate about the arts, new media, marketing which she expresses through her writing
