Ogechi Akalegbere is a Nigerian-American who is a Christian Service Coordinator, public speaker, competitive powerlifter, and fitness instructor. She hosts the podcast Tell Me, If You Can, and is the 2021 winner of the Cardinal Bernardin New Leadership Award from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. She loves to combine her passions for service to community, culture, wellness, and faith to inspire others to share their passions and be their most authentic selves.

A thirst for the empowerment of others and diversity that is deeply rooted and well reflected in her community is what drives her a leader.

Ogechi Akalegbere is a Nigerian-American who is a Christian Service Coordinator, public speaker, competitive powerlifter, and fitness instructor. Ogechi grew up in and lives in Gaithersburg,

Maryland and when she is not at work or creating digital content she is either enjoying quality time with her husband of three years or at the gym lifting weights. She has a passion for social justice, empowering women to find their inner and outer strength and service to those in the margins. She serves as a catechist, lector, and pastoral council co-chair, and small group leader at her parish and diocese and is involved as a community organizer and diversity practitioner in her community. Ogechi uses her training

as an equity facilitator and practitioner to help parishes, organizations, and small groups digest what equity means to them and those they encounter.

Two-part engagement focused talk with high school youth about self-love, what it means and how to discover it. Helping students understand the Christian perspective on self-love. Using the tat understanding to apply to church teachings on chastity and explaining the totality of the topic as it relates to all relationships.

Young Adult Leadership : Invitation and Mentorship

Explaining how I grew to become an active leader in my church at a young age and how young adults desire authentic invitation, mentorship and opportunity to not only share their voices but be see that their voices are instrumental in their parishes' development.
