It was Gardner who pointed to the “Rising American Electorate” – the communities of previously underutilized and generally marginalized constituencies including individuals of color, unmarried women, and young people. In 1992, Gardner worked on Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign and John Keey’s U.S. Senate bid. Previously, Garnder worked as a political fundraiser for politicians like Barney Frank, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the Democratic National Convention.
