Phil Nichols completed his PhD at Liverpool University on the screenwriting of world-famous science fiction writer Ray Bradbury, He is also a lecturer in film-making and screenwriting at the University of Wolverhampton.
Phil acts as Senior Advisor to the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies at Indiana University, the world's leading collection of Bradbury papers and artefacts, and is also a consultant to the Ray Bradbury Experience Museum currently being developed in Bradbury's hometown.
Phil edited a special issue of THE NEW RAY BRADBURY REVIEW which celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the 1966 film version of FAHRENHEIT 451, and curated the first-ever overview of Bradbury on film (at Indiana University). He is also a consultant on the ongoing book series THE COLLECTED STORIES OF RAY BRADBURY (Kent State University Press).
As a writer, Phil has contributed to various books and journals, mostly writing on media adaptations from literature, and focusing on Ray Bradbury and Harlan Ellison. His writings have appeared in WHEN GENRES COLLIDE, VISIONS OF MARS, CRITICAL INSIGHTS: FAHRENHEIT 451 and SCIENCE FICTION ACROSS MEDIA.
