The Why

In 2013 I was given a rude awakening when after a season of triathlons, I decided to run a marathon. All this was part of a plan before turning 50. Each time I ran, I experienced neck pain and it was discovered that I had two blocked arteries.

I was the lucky one as I managed to dodge a bullet and ended up with two stents. Today I am probably back to close to my fitness and strength from 2013, but much more self aware of listening to my body This experience helped me to find my purpose in life. I found my purpose in sharing the experiences of journeying and achieving excellence with business owners and entrepreneurs around the world

After 30+ years as a serial entrepreneur, in everything from education to finance to fitness, I’ve now made it my mission to share my knowledge and expertise with others. Seeing that light come on, and connections being made in people’s heads as to how they can weave my experiences and advice into their businesses reinforces that this is where I need to be From being 6000ft underground in a mine, to starting an education business (that grew to have 4000 plus students) to spending years working in venture capital, I have has seen it all. I have listed companies on multiple international stock exchanges, and my financial services group has settled more than 3bn in loans over 20 years. I have a diverse work history combined with unique global research interviews with companies in more than 25 countries. Taking this knowledge and experience makes me perfect to work with leaders and managers on growing and achieving excellence, as I have experienced the rollercoaster myself, and know how to navigate the twists, turns and loops.

If you need me to have academic qualifications, I hold two Masters degrees; an MBA and MSc (Engineering) and am currently a Fellow of the MFAA (Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia), a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) (Professional Speakers Australia) and a Member of AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors). If Culture ate strategy for breakfast - why are you still hungry ?

Do you want to have a rich and robust culture ?
Do you want team members to embrace and share purpose and values ?
Do you want to understand the world’s best and worst organization cultures ?

If Culture ate strategy for breakfast – are you still hungry ?

If you answered yes to any of these then global culture research combined with pragmatic approaches to developing culture are here !
In this presentation you will you will understand how a rich and robust culture is a cornerstone of successful organizations. You will be provided a truly a global perspective on the impact of culture through the global Interviews with multiple companies spanning over 25 countries. You will learn about organizations that have succeeded (and failed) to create great cultures.
This presentation drills down to sharing the learning of those experiences to help organizations develop their culture of excellence.

The Organization of Culture

Culture will become the new strategy in our fast paced changing world. Rael's global research interview show a diverse cultural world. This keynote looks at strategies to develop ideal sustainable cultures.

Climbing to Diversity

Diversity in the organization has traditionally been defined by three broad categories namely race, gender and age. It’s a wonderful place to start, however it fails to recognize some of the subtle characteristics of true diversity.
The challenge is in the complexity of defining the layers of diversity. How do organizations define their diversity initiatives? Should organizations attempt to define their diversity objectives on a small number of measures? In many post-colonial African countries these diversity initiatives were first defined on race, with specific diversity targets based on black ownership and representation. In America there are layers of corporate protection for various categories of employee. In Australia there are initiatives to recognize people and organizations of Aboriginal or Torres Islander descent, whilst working towards inclusive strategies around gender, disability and other measures.

Financially Fit and Focussed

Stress about finances is often ranked as one of the top stressors in people's lives, and this stress can very easily permeate into other areas of life. Rael Bricker, with his 30+ years as a serial entrepreneur and 16+ years starting and running a financial services group, talks through some practical aspects and tips to create financial excellence.

The aim of this keynote or workshop is not for participants to walk out and achieve overnight success as an investor, or even to become the wealthiest person on the block. Rather, the aim of this is to put practical elements in place to create financial excellence and take control of this aspect of life, making rational decisions and achieving personal success by one’s own measures. By taking control of one’s financial fitness, this can lead to being able to harness and focus ones’ energy towards greater financial control and excellence in finance, and other aspects of life.

Give up control and gain control

It’s a paradox - give up control to gain control. Empowering team members enables the team to optimise their own input into the organisation, paving the way not only for business growth, but personal growth and satisfaction within the team. By giving up control of the daily grind, Rael found that he was better able to optimise his time and make his business flourish from a properly devoted management level as he was not caught up in the monotonous daily routine tasks.
