Rashane Pintoe is a graduate of Victoria University and Girne American University, with qualifications in Financial Risk Management and International Relations respectively. He is a researcher in Islamist extremism, counter-terrorism and strategic communication. Having been previously employed at the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka, Rashane boasts extensive experience in counter-terrorism research. He is currently employed in the private sector as an analyst in Financial Crimes Compliance.
Rashane is an experienced chess player having constantly played at national chess tournaments. He is also a political enthusiast, concerning himself with the ever-changing political dimensions of the planet.
Rashane was also the United Nations Student Ambassador Coordinator for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, where he led a team of 17 Ambassadors to make an impact in society on various projects and implementations.
When he is not involved in academics and sports, Rashane writes articles for multiple local newspapers on topics relating to terrorism, peace, and the status quo of the political attributes in both Sri Lankan and foreign aspects.
