Bio

Reginald Beaty is the President of the Foundation for Educational Success (FFES). He conducts youth and adult workshops and keynote presentations throughout the United States and Canada. Reggie has spent most of his adult life working with students and advising educators regarding effective techniques and strategies that lead to increased graduation rates and ensure school success. As an at-risk kid, Reggie was expelled from school at age 14. He stayed out of school for two years and made bad decisions as he ran with gang-oriented crowds. After mentors helped him, he received a bachelor’s and master’s degree, went on to a 20-year military career, and retired as a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel. During his military career, he received numerous honors, including being named National Instructor of the Year for all colleges and universities in the country and the Civic Man of the Year award for his work with youth in Oklahoma.

Reggie also served as the Vice President of an historically black college in Georgia, and was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Communities In Schools (CIS) of Georgia. As the COO, he led the team to create the graduation coach program in Georgia and assisted CIS of Georgia’s 50 local network affiliates as they strengthened their capacity to work in partnership with school districts to reduce the dropout rate. With Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funding, he developed and oversaw 27 high school Performance Learning Centers® (PLCs) and the national expansion of the PLCs throughout the country. His experience makes him a sought-after keynote speaker and trainer in various topics which include inspiring young people to embrace the opportunities opened through education and how to create high-performing educational culture and climates in schools and homes.
